Initiated in 1991 by three Cincinnati-based hospital systems, HealthSpan is now the leading provider-owned and independent network of hospitals, physicians and ancillary services in the TriState region. The network includes 100% of area hospitals and 98% of area physicians. HealthSpan is owned by Mercy Health Partners of Southwest Ohio and Catholic Healthcare Partners.

Serving employer groups which are either self-funded or fully insured, HealthSpan continues to grow and is the leading independent PPO network competing with the three national carriers in the Greater Cincinnati market. In addition, HealthSpan sets itself apart through its ability to offer comprehensive products and services including wellness, EAP and care management programs.
